As a photographer I’m always looking for diverse locations. My obsession apparently rubbed off on my family members because my daughter came home after a night of hanging out with her friends. “Mom. You’ve got to see this spot. It has all this old stuff and I think you’ll like it cuz it looked really cool.” She had my attention at “old.”
And let me tell you, once my daughter showed me the location I knew I had taught her well. A tear of joy welled in my eye and I swelled with pride that my daughter had found such a photographic goldmine. Not really on the tear in my eye part, but seriously, this place rocks and I was super stoked she found it.
The only downside? It’s private property. But, if you spend any amount of time with me you’d probably find I’m not the overly shy type and a little detail of private property wasn’t going to deter me. Or so I hoped.
Enter my new friend Connie. You see, she is the property owner so in exchange for exclusive access to her property, I was privileged to photograph her with her two handsome boys. Wait — that’s two great deals for me! No one tell Connie, ok? Hahaha.
Seriously, though….she admitted to me the last time she had photos of her sons they were babies. So hopefully she’ll be as happy with our deal as I am.![]()

Look at those eyes! So amazingly beautiful. Wow.

And of course I couldn’t leave without photographing the furry members of the family. Although their puppy isn’t so friendly with strangers, she still wanted to smile for me! Trust me, that’s not a growl — its an ear-to-doggie-ear smile.

Up next: a family of 32!!
